The Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics (FCSM) announces the availability of a Michele M. Cooper M.D. Scholarship, a donor-funded scholarship for an incoming freshmen student from an Anne Arundel County High School who is committed to major in a program housed in the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics. This scholarship is renewable up to three additional years as long as the student remains a major in the Fisher College and in academic good standing.  Listed below is the general information about this scholarship.

Eligibility and Criteria:

• A graduate of an Anne Arundel County High School.
• Preference for a first generation student (neither parent completed college).
• Have a high school GPA of 3.1 or higher.
• Must have unmet financial need.
• Intend to declare a major in the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics and attend Towson University full-time.
• Renewable up to 4 years with a college cumulative GPA of 3.5.

Award Amount:   $5,000

Application Procedure:

Before you begin filing out the application you must do the following:

1. Write a personal statement expressing your career plans. This can be in either Word or Adobe PDF format and must be no more than one page.
2. Scan your high school transcript to an Adobe PDF file.
3. Optionally, scan your ACT or SAT report to an Adobe PDF file.

Once these files have been created, click on this link to the application:

• In the PowerForm Signer Information screen, type in your first and last name and your email address. Then click on the BEGIN SIGNING button.
• Optional click to accept cookies.
• Click on the CONTINUE button.
• Fill in the information requested in the red boxes. Note, do not included dashes in the telephone number.
• Click on the 鈥減aper clip鈥� to attach your 鈥減ersonal statement.鈥�
• Click on the 鈥減aper clip鈥� to attach you high school transcript.
• Optionally click on the 鈥漰aper clip鈥� to attach your ACT or SAT scores report.
• Click on the Sign button.
• Click on the FINISH button to submit your application.
• Two teacher references are required for the application process.  Please select teachers who can comment on your interest and commitment to a physical/computer scientific or mathematics discipline.  Have them email this letter of reference to FCSM@towson.edu and insert your name and the scholarship you are applying for in the subject line of the email.
