College of Business and Economics professor Natalie Scala has been named a Fellow of the (ASEM)—the highest level of membership within the organization. Scala was recognized in September for her sustained contributions to the field of engineering management and her dedicated service to ASEM.

Fellow status is reserved for individuals with at least eight years of continuous membership who demonstrate significant accomplishments in professional achievement and service to the society. Scala’s recognition highlights her leadership in engineering management education and her scholarly research in military and national security applications.

“This award is particularly important to me, as ASEM was one of the first professional societies I interacted with in graduate school,” Scala says. “I presented my very first paper at one of their conferences, which was held that year at West Point. Making the military and defense connections as an early graduate student helped build the foundation of my research. ASEM is a tight, supportive group of professionals who truly want each other to succeed.”

Since 1988, ASEM has named 109 fellows.
